PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALTY PROGRAMS

The Urban Educators Foundation, Inc. offers school-based professional development programs to support teachers and schools that seek to improve student achievement through the use of research-based strategies that promote professional growth and student achievement.

Our philosophy about professional development is founded on the beliefs that:

  • Smarter teachers equal smarter students

  • Teachers must be given time to learn, develop, master, reflect and collaborate on new skills to enhance teaching.

  • Teachers must deepen their content knowledge and learn new methods of teaching to meet the demands of today’s classroom.

All professional development sessions are based on the national standards for professional development, which promote effective professional development for optimum student learning.  As a result, all professional development sessions provided are consistent, coherent and collaborative.
